Q: How has Magic effectively used his status to influence young people?

Magic Johnson was arguably one of the best Basketball players of all time. because of that he was a role model to millions of young people. when he contracted HIV he was surrounded by rumors and misconceptions. people were afraid to go near him because they didn't know how HIV was transferred, they thought he was going to die. magic used his influence to educate young people about HIV, he taught people about how it is transferred and what treatments are available and most importantly how to prevent the spread of HIV.
