There are several stories of how athletes go bankrupt after they retire because they cannot manage their money-just look at Terrell Owens or Chad Johnson. But Magic Johnson is a success story. He has gone from NBA star to social outcast to HIV/AIDS activist and billionaire. Not only has Magic himself been successful, but he has used his success to help others be successful. Through his HIV/AIDS activism he has allowed free testing for thousands of people across the nation, giving them the opportunity to seek treatment and learn how to protect themselves from HIV. So yes, Magic Johnson is a successful business man. He is successful not only because he made his name into a billion dollar name, but he has also used his wealth to help other people avoid misfortune and find success themselves.
I agree. I think Magic Johnson is the best kind of business man and was very lucky that society was ready to accept him even with AIDS. Magic would be struggling without the support he found and has lived the best of both worlds in his life using his athletic abilities and intellect to make it big.
